Weather

Silky white beaches, aquamarine waters, lush jungles and an abundance of sunshine draw tourists to Mexico year-round. Mexico's Pacific coast and Yucatan Peninsula enjoy balmy weather tempered by cool sea breezes throughout the year, but the best time to visit is generally during the dry season lasting from late October through May. During these months the weather is pleasantly warm with cool nights and little rainfall and humidity. Temperatures rise slightly from June through September with the increased humidity making it seem hotter. The rainy season runs from June through early October. Though the Caribbean's hurricane season lasts from June 1 through November 30, peak months for Mexico's coastal areas are September and October.

Central Mexico also receives temperate weather most of the year. The area's high altitude means it is rarely scorching hot, even in the warmest months of April and May. Central Mexico shares the same rainy season as coastal Mexico, lasting from June through October. The coldest time of year is between November and February, when daytime temperatures are mild but nights are chilly.
